South Kensington (Circle, District and Piccadilly lines) and High Street Kensington (Circle and District) are the nearest stations, both 10 to 15 minutes' walk. From South Kensington, follow the pedestrian subway signed for the museums, then walk up Exhibition Road to the Hall. Gloucester Road (Circle, District and Piccadilly) is about 15 minutes, up Queen's Gate.
None of these three is step-free. The access page has the step-free route.
By bus
The 9, 52 and 452 stop right outside, on Kensington Gore at the stops called Royal Albert Hall, about three minutes' walk from the doors, and the N9 stops there at night. Behind the Hall, the 360 stops on Prince Consort Road, a minute from the Box Office at Door 12. The 70 stops on Prince Consort Road and on Queen's Gate, about three minutes away.
By taxi
A taxi can drop you at Door 1, outside Albert Hall Mansions on Kensington Gore, and after the show cabs can be hailed outside Door 6.
By car
The Hall is outside the Congestion Charge zone but inside the Ultra Low Emission Zone, so check your car.
The closest parking is the Imperial College car park on Exhibition Road (SW7 2BX), about five minutes' walk. It opens an hour before the event and costs £11 if you book ahead through the Hall, but it isn't available for weekday matinees. Street parking round the Hall is very limited.
What time to arrive
Arrive 20 to 30 minutes before, no later. Every bag is searched, entry is controlled door by door, and the walk from the door to a seat in the Rausing Circle is a long one. Your event page has the time the doors open.
If you're late, you'll be let in at a suitable break, which can be a long wait.
