Boxes at the Royal Albert Hall

There are three tiers of Boxes round the Hall, between the Stalls and the Rausing Circle. The Loggia Boxes, the lowest, seat eight. The Grand Tier Boxes, in the middle, seat twelve. The Second Tier Boxes, at the top, seat four or five.

Should you book one?

The front row, yes. For an occasion, or for Cirque du Soleil, it's a great seat, with food and drink waiting if you order ahead and, in the round, a high view of the whole floor.

The back rows, rarely. The rows behind the front can lose part of the stage, worst in the Boxes nearest it. In some Second Tier Boxes the fifth seat is a high chair right at the back, with a restricted view. That's the one to avoid. For the same money, a seat in the Stalls facing the stage sees more.

Why Boxes aren't always on sale

Many Boxes belong to private Seatholders, who use the seats for some events and hand them back to be sold for others. So a Box can be on sale one night and not the next, and its seats are often sold one at a time, which means you may share with people you don't know.

Getting there

The Loggia Boxes are reached from the Stalls corridor on the ground floor, and lifts at Doors 1 and 8 go up to the Grand Tier and Second Tier. Booster cushions aren't allowed in the front row of a Box, but they are in the rows behind.
