Cookie Policy
Some parts of this site only work if we can store a small amount of information on your device. This page says what we store, why, and how to change your mind. If anything here is unclear, call us on 020 7193 9050 and we will explain it.
The short version
- We store what the site needs to work. Your basket and your place in a booking cannot survive a page change without it.
- We only measure how the site is used if you agree. Nothing for analytics loads until you accept.
- We do not sell your data, and we do not run advertising trackers.
- You can change your mind at any time from the Cookie settings link in the footer.
What we store, and why
Things the site cannot work without
These are set whether or not you accept anything, because without them the site breaks.
| What | What it does | How long it lasts |
|---|---|---|
| Session cookie | Remembers your basket and where you are in a booking | Until you close your browser, or two hours of inactivity |
| Security token | Stops other websites submitting forms as if they were you | The same session |
| Cookie choice | Remembers whether you accepted or rejected the rest | Twelve months |
Things we only use if you accept
| What | What it does |
|---|---|
| Google Analytics | Counts visits and shows us which pages people use, so we can improve them |
| Microsoft Clarity | Records how pages are used, so we can see where people get stuck. Form fields such as your name, email, phone number and address are hidden from those recordings |
If you reject these, the site works exactly as before. We simply see less.
Things that load only on certain pages
Some parts of the site come from other companies, and they may set their own cookies when you use them:
- Seat plans on shows sold through London Theatre Direct. Their seat map loads on the page where you choose seats.
- Maps on theatre pages, which come from Google.
- Trailers and videos, which come from YouTube. A video only loads when you press play.
When you leave us to pay, you are on your ticketing partner's own site, and their cookie policy applies. Ours does not follow you there.
Changing your mind
Cookie settings in the footer reopens the choice at any time. You can also clear cookies in your browser settings, though that will empty any basket you have open.
Questions
Call us on 020 7193 9050, Monday to Saturday 8am to 8pm and Sunday 10am to 8pm, or email [email protected]. If you want to know what data we hold about you, or want it deleted, the same address reaches us and we will answer within a month, as the law requires.
Who "we" are. Hit The Theatre is a trading name of Will Howard, selling West End theatre tickets since 2004. You can write to us at Unit 219, Brickfields, 37 Cremer Street, London E2 8HD. When you pay for tickets, the payment is taken by the ticketing partner selling that show, and their own privacy and cookie policies apply on their site.
