Gallery at the Royal Albert Hall

The Gallery is the top level of the Hall, a standing area that runs right round the building above the Rausing Circle. There are no seats and no reserved places. It's used for the BBC Proms and some other events.

What it's like

The atmosphere is the best thing about it. You're looking down on the whole Hall from a great height, so you won't see faces, and the sound is fine rather than great.

Get there early: the places along the front rail, where you can lean, go first. The end nearest the stage loses some of the view, and a little further round is better. It's a long climb up the stairs, so if standing all evening is a problem, book a seat in the Rausing Circle instead.

Gallery FAQs

Are there standing tickets at the Royal Albert Hall?

Yes, for some events. The Gallery is always standing when it's sold, and for the Proms and some gigs the Arena is a standing floor too.
