About Hit The Theatre
Hit The Theatre is your personal box office for London theatre tickets. We've been selling tickets for West End and London shows since 2004, and we've been hitthetheatre.co.uk from day one. We're a small, independent business, and when you call us you speak to someone who genuinely knows the shows.
How it started
Hit The Theatre was started by Will Howard, who got into theatre at school, helping to design sound and light for amateur productions. At university he organised trips to West End shows for groups of anywhere between 10 and 400 people, and wrote his dissertation on how to get younger audiences interested in theatre. What he found looked like a business, so in 2004 he set one up to do exactly that.
Over time the business grew, and it made sense to sell tickets to theatregoers of all ages, while keeping that focus on younger audiences, which we're still passionate about today. Will alone sees somewhere between 75 and 150 shows a year, and that is where most of the advice on this site comes from.
What we try to do
Our aim is simple: to get people in to see shows at prices they can afford. In practice that means three things.
All-in prices. The price you pick is the price you pay, with nothing added at checkout.
A phone number you can use. Our number is 020 7193 9050, and we're always delighted when people call with a question: which seats to go for, booking for a group, or something you want to check before you pay. You'll speak to Will or one of our small team, Monday to Saturday 8am to 8pm and Sunday 10am to 8pm.
Honest advice. If a show isn't one we sell, or a seat isn't worth the money, we'll say so. We want you to enjoy the show, and to come back to us for the next one.
Your tickets
Your seats are confirmed as soon as you book, and your tickets arrive by email as e-tickets, some within minutes and others around 24 hours before the show. Your phone is enough at the door.
