Five doors have ramps, lifts go up to the Boxes and the Rausing Circle, and there are accessible toilets on every level. Access bookings are handled by the Hall's own Box Office, not by us, so arrange accessible seats through the Hall's official site before you travel.

Getting in and getting to your seat

There's ramped access at Doors 1, 3, 8, 9 and 12. The other doors have steps.

  • Stalls: the wheelchair spaces in the H, J, L and M Stalls are step-free from the ground-floor corridor. Otherwise it's one step down to row 11 and 21 steps down to row 1
  • Grand Tier and Second Tier Boxes: lifts at Doors 1 and 8
  • Rausing Circle: lifts at Doors 1 and 8, with step-free spaces between blocks P and Q, R and S, V and W, and X and Y. Otherwise it's one step up to row 1 and 21 steps up to row 7, on a steep slope

Getting here step-free

Knightsbridge is step-free to the platform if you ask for a ramp before boarding, and the 9, 52 and 452 run from there to the stop outside the Hall. From Green Park, which is step-free, the 9 goes direct.

Blue Badge holders can use free spaces at 1851 Place, off Queen's Gate by Bremner Road, outside Door 8, booked with the Hall's access team.

Hearing support and access tickets

The Hall has an infrared system, with receivers from the Information Desk at Door 6. Access tickets can't be resold, but the Hall will refund them up to 24 hours before the event. Each event lists its own relaxed, signed or captioned performances, where there are any.

Bars, bags and children

  • The Café Bar opens at 9am on show days, Verdi on event days, and the other bars and restaurants usually two hours before the start. Everything is card and contactless only
  • One bag each, no bigger than about 40 x 30 x 20cm, and every bag is searched. Anything bigger goes in the cloakroom at £2 an item
  • Bring water in a refillable bottle and fill it at Doors 3 or 9. Other food and drink from outside isn't allowed
  • Age rules are set by each event; for Kurios, under-3s can sit on a lap. Booster cushions are limited, and not allowed in the Stalls, the Choir, the Rausing Circle or the front row of a Box. Call us on 020 7193 9050 and we'll help you find seats a child can see from
  • A few photos or a short video at a suitable moment are fine. No flash, and no filming the whole thing
