What time to arrive
Arrive 15 to 20 minutes before the show, no later. The building does open 90 minutes early, but there's no need to arrive super early.
The exception is the Terrace Bar on the Upper Circle level. It is tiny, so if you want a drink on its balcony, get there early.
Use the toilet before you set off if you can, because the theatre's are small, and leave large bags behind, because the theatre asks you not to bring them and bags can be searched at the door.
By tube
- Leicester Square, about 4 minutes. Northern and Piccadilly lines. Leave by the Cranbourn Street exit and keep going as it bends into St Martin's Lane. Once you have passed the Noël Coward Theatre, the Tom Stoppard is the following one
- Charing Cross, about 7 minutes. Bakerloo and Northern lines, with the mainline station alongside
- Covent Garden, about 7 minutes. Piccadilly line
- Embankment, about 10 minutes. Bakerloo, Circle, District and Northern lines
St Martin's Court, the alley between Charing Cross Road and St Martin's Lane, is a quicker cut-through by day. It is poorly lit after dark, so use the main street when you leave.
