Access at the Lyric Hammersmith
3 shows on now · From £18 · See shows
The Lyric has lifts to both its theatres, and in the Main House the step-free seats are in the Stalls, including the wheelchair and transfer seats. The Circle and Upper Circle are up further flights of stairs.
Access bookings are handled by the Lyric's own Box Office, not by us. Arrange accessible seats through the theatre's official site before you travel.
Getting in and getting to your seat
You come in at street level, by the Box Office, and the auditorium is two floors up. The lift takes you to the bar level and the Stalls, step-free. For the Circle and Upper Circle, it's one or two more flights of stairs from the bar.
The Studio, the Lyric's second theatre, is step-free too.
Wheelchair and transfer seats
There are wheelchair and transfer seats in the Stalls for every show.
Getting here step-free
All four tube lines at Hammersmith have step-free access, and the route from the stations and the bus station to the theatre is level, about 200 yards. Blue Badge spaces are on levels 6 and 7 of the Livat car park on Glenthorne Road.
Hearing support
There's an audio enhancement system in both theatres, which works with your own wired earphones or headphones. Ask a member of staff for a device when you arrive.
Captioned, signed and audio-described performances
Each production sets its own dates for audio-described performances, with a touch tour before each one, and for captioned, BSL-interpreted, relaxed and chilled performances. A chilled performance is the show unchanged, in a more relaxed atmosphere, and suits babies in arms. You'll find the dates on each show's page.
Toilets, assistance dogs and visit guides
- Accessible toilets are in the bar and on the Stalls level, with a baby change and an accessible toilet on the first floor
- Assistance dogs are welcome
- The Lyric publishes a visual guide to a visit, with photos of the route from the front door to your seat
Access FAQs
Is the Lyric Hammersmith wheelchair accessible?
Yes, to the Stalls. A lift takes you from the street to the Stalls, where the wheelchair and transfer seats are. Book them through the Lyric's own Box Office.
