Victoria Palace Theatre, London

Hamilton the Musical plays here, on Victoria Street directly opposite Victoria station, in a theatre of 1,557 seats over three levels. This page has where to sit on each level, what the prices look like, how to get here and where to eat and stay nearby.

Still choosing seats? The middle of the Stalls, rows F to K around seats 20 to 29, is the best place in the building, and the front of the Grand Circle is the best value in it. The seat we'd talk you out of is the back of the Grand Circle: it's the cheapest ticket here, and it's cheap for a reason. All the seating was replaced in the 2016 to 2017 refurbishment, so there are fewer restricted view seats than there used to be, and there are no pillars anywhere.

Already booked? Arrive 15 to 20 minutes before, no later, because there are bag checks on the way in, and travel light, as the cloakroom only takes coats and small bags. An evening performance of Hamilton runs 2 hours 45 minutes and has you out around 10:15pm, which matters if you're booking dinner or catching a train.

Below: the seating plan and a page for each level, the Stalls, Royal Circle and Grand Circle, what the Boxes are like, how to get here, access and facilities, restaurants, bars and hotels nearby, and more about the building.

What's On at the Victoria Palace Theatre

Hamilton is booking here until 2 October 2027. It has played here since December 2017, when the theatre reopened after its restoration.

That's a booking-until date, not a closing date. It gets extended, and Hamilton is going nowhere, so "booking until 2 October 2027" means the calendar currently reaches that far, not that the show finishes then.

Hamilton runs 2 hours 45 minutes, including a 15-minute interval. Evening performances are Monday to Saturday at 7:30pm, with matinees on Thursday and Saturday at 2:30pm, and there's no show on Sundays. It's recommended for ages 10 and over, for strong language.

Over Christmas the week changes: 1pm shows on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve, two shows on Sunday 27 December, and no performances on 25 and 26 December or on 1 and 3 January.

One Sunday night is taken by a one-off: Raise the Roof!, hosted by Bradley Walsh, on Sunday 1 November 2026 at 7pm, in aid of Denville Hall's centenary appeal.

Hamilton ticket prices

The biggest saving is choosing a midweek performance over a weekend one. Midweek runs from around £25 up to around £185. The same seats at the weekend run from around £45 up to around £225, and midweek is cheaper at every level, not just at the two ends.

Booking for ten or more on a Monday to Thursday? The group price is £65 a seat in the Stalls or Royal Circle, and £49.50 in the Grand Circle.

All-in pricing, the price you see is what you pay. Two neighbouring price bands here are often only a couple of rows apart, so ask us before you book and we'll tell you when the step up is worth paying for and when it isn't.

Victoria Palace Theatre FAQs

How many seats does the Victoria Palace Theatre have?

1,557, over three levels. There are 719 in the Stalls, 414 in the Royal Circle and 356 in the Grand Circle, which includes ten standing places at the back, and the other 68 are in the Boxes and Slips.

Is the Victoria Palace Theatre in the West End?

Yes, though it's in Victoria, along with the Apollo Victoria Theatre, rather than in the cluster around Shaftesbury Avenue and Covent Garden, which is about a mile to the north-east. A West End theatre with one of the biggest shows in the West End, just in Victoria.

Is this the same as The Other Palace?

No, and they're five minutes apart, so it's a fair question. This is the Victoria Palace Theatre on Victoria Street, 1,557 seats, home of Hamilton. The Other Palace is a much smaller theatre on Palace Street that puts on new musicals and work in development. If your ticket says Victoria Street, you want this one.

Is there a dress code, and can I wear jeans or trainers?

No dress code, and yes to both. Plenty of the audience will be in jeans and trainers and some will be dressed a lot smarter, and neither looks out of place. Wear what you'll be comfortable in for nearly three hours.

Can I take a bag into the Victoria Palace Theatre?

Yes, a handbag or a small rucksack. Staff search bags at the door and won't let in alcohol, glass, knives, safety sprays or chemicals. A suitcase is the problem: the cloakroom only holds coats and small bags, so drop anything bigger at the left luggage office in Victoria station before you cross over.

Can I bring my own food, snacks or a bottle of water?

No. Food and drink bought elsewhere can't be brought in, and that covers a bottle of water and your own snacks as well as a takeaway. Every level has its own bar for drinks and snacks, though there's no hot food. If you have a dietary or medical need, speak to the theatre's management when you arrive.

Can I pay with cash?

No. The theatre is cashless, so bring a card or phone for the bars and the merchandise.

Can I bring children?

Yes, from age 3, though Hamilton is best for 10 and over because of its strong language. A child of any age needs a ticket of their own, and anyone under 16 must sit beside an adult aged 18 or over.

What time does Hamilton finish?

An evening performance starts at 7:30pm and finishes around 10:15pm. A Thursday or Saturday matinee starts at 2:30pm and finishes around 5:15pm.

What time does the Box Office open?

It opens 2 hours 30 minutes ahead of each performance and shuts 15 minutes after the curtain goes up. On Thursdays and Saturdays, with a matinee and an evening show, it stays open right through the afternoon. You don't need to go there to buy: book with us online or call 020 7193 9050.

Can I book by phone?

Yes. Call us on 020 7193 9050 and we'll find you the right seat for your date and budget. The price we tell you on the phone is the price you pay.
