Balcony at the Royal Opera House

The Balcony is the fourth level, above the Grand Tier and below the Amphitheatre: four rows, A to D, with Boxes along the sides. It's high, but closer to the stage than the Amphitheatre, and on some nights it's priced with the expensive levels below it.

Where we'd put you

The centre of rows A and B. You look down over the whole stage, face on. Further along the row the view turns side-on, and for a ballet the ends lose part of the floor.

Getting to your seat, drinks and toilets

There are lifts to this level and some seats are step-free from them; see access. On foot it's a long climb, with landings and breaks in the stairs. There's a gender-neutral toilet on this level by door 3E, open while the auditorium is, and toilets on every floor.

Balcony FAQs

Is the Balconies Restaurant on the Balcony?

It's a restaurant for ticket holders inside the Royal Opera House, booked in advance, and not part of the Balcony seating. Nearby has more on eating in the building.
