Up to 265 seats in a long, narrow auditorium under the arches. Most of them are in the Stalls, in two blocks with a wide aisle between them. Two narrow balconies run down the side walls, and two small raised benches sit either side of the front of the Stalls.
The one thing to understand before you pick a seat
The seating can change from show to show. Most productions here play end-on, with the stage at one end and every seat facing it, and that's what this guide describes. Now and then a show puts the stage in the middle, with audience on two sides, and the row letters then mean something different. Whatever you book, check the seating plan for your show before you pay.
Where to sit
For the view, book the middle of rows F to J in the Stalls; for legroom, row K. The benches are the cheapest seats.
The seating at a glance
| Area | Where it is | Book | Think twice |
|---|---|---|---|
| Stalls | Two blocks, with an aisle in front of row K | Rows F to J in the middle; row K for legroom | Rows B and C |
| Balcony | Single rows of chairs along both side walls | The seats nearest the stage | A side-on view; you lean forward to see |
| Benches | Raised alcoves either side of the front Stalls | The seat nearest the stage | The far seats, which have little legroom |
Is anything in the way?
Nothing overhangs the Stalls seats. The two side balconies run above the side aisles, not above the seats, so from anywhere in the Stalls you see the full height of the stage.
Step-free seating
The Stalls are down a flight of stairs from the foyer and there's no lift. Balcony 1 is level with the foyer and has the wheelchair spaces. The access page has the detail.

Seating Plan FAQs
Are there any bad seats at Charing Cross Theatre?
No seat is far from the stage. The ones with a catch are the front two rows, where you look up, the far end of each bench, and the Balcony, where the view is from the side.
