How to Get to the Bush Theatre

Bush Theatre, 7 Uxbridge Road, Shepherd's Bush, London W12 8LJ. It's in the old library next to Shepherd's Bush Market, at the western end of Shepherd's Bush Green.

By tube

• Shepherd's Bush Market (Hammersmith & City and Circle lines): directly across the road, about a minute's walk
• Shepherd's Bush (Central line): under ten minutes' walk, across Shepherd's Bush Green
• Goldhawk Road (Hammersmith & City and Circle lines): about six minutes' walk

Don't mix up the two Shepherd's Bush stations. Shepherd's Bush Market is the one on the Hammersmith & City and Circle lines, by the theatre. Shepherd's Bush, on the Central line, is at the other end of the Green.

By train

Shepherd's Bush station, on the Overground (Mildmay line, between Stratford and Clapham Junction), is next to the Central line station, under ten minutes' walk away. From the main London stations, Paddington is about 15 minutes direct on the Hammersmith & City or Circle line, and King's Cross, St Pancras and Euston about 30.

By bus

Plenty of routes stop within two minutes of the door:

• Shepherd's Bush Green, stop P: 72, 207, 260 and SL8, plus the N72 and N207 at night
• Uxbridge Road, Westfield, stop C: 95, 148, 220 and 272
• Shepherd's Bush Green, stop N: 94, 95, 148, 220, 272 and 295
• Shepherd's Bush Market station, stops Q and R: 72, 207, 260 and SL8
• Shepherd's Bush Road, stop M, about three minutes away: 94 and 237

By car

There's very little on-street parking near the theatre. The nearest car park is Westfield London's Car Park A, entered from the West Cross Route, about nine minutes' walk away down Wood Lane. Its exits are open 24 hours, so a late finish isn't a problem.

By taxi

Ask to be dropped on Pennard Road, which runs along the side of the theatre.

What time to arrive

Arrive 20 to 30 minutes before, no later. The Bush's own advice is no later than 20 minutes before, and the bar gets busy just before a show.

Latecomers aren't always let in. Both spaces are small, and the way to your seat often goes across the stage, so if the show has started you may have to wait for a suitable break or be seated somewhere other than your booked seat. Many Bush shows run without an interval, and on those there may be no way in at all.
