Access and Facilities at the Bush Theatre
7 shows on now · From £12 · See shows
The Bush rebuilt the old library in 2016 and 2017 with level access to every floor and both performance spaces. Both theatres are on the ground floor, with a level floor.
Access bookings are handled by the Bush, not by us. Book access tickets directly with the theatre through its official site.
Getting in
The main entrance is on the right-hand side of the building, through the terrace off Uxbridge Road. There's a ramp as well as steps, and automatic glass doors at the top. A lift goes to the first and second floors.
Wheelchair spaces
There's a wheelchair space at every performance, in both the Holloway Theatre and the Studio, and step-free access to row A of every Block. If you need a seat you can move, the Bush can put in a freestanding seat when you ask.
Access tickets
The Bush sells access tickets at £5 off the standard price, with a free ticket for a personal assistant or companion. They're booked with the Bush, online, by phone or in person.
Hearing and sight
There's a hearing loop at every performance, with headsets from the Box Office. Every show has captioned performances, and audio-described performances come with a touch tour an hour before. If you're booking for a captioned show, choose seats with a clear view of the caption screen; the plan for that show will tell you where it is.
Access performances
Each production sets its own dates for captioned, audio-described, relaxed and BSL-interpreted performances, and you'll find them on the show's page. Every show also has a Self-Care Guide on the Bush's site, with content warnings and notes on lighting and sound.
Toilets
The main toilets are on the first floor, reached by stairs or the lift. There's an accessible toilet on the ground floor, with baby changing.
Assistance dogs
Assistance dogs are welcome in both spaces. Ask for an aisle seat, and if you let the Bush know in advance, staff can look after your dog during the show.
