Which door?

The main entrance on Panton Street opens into a small foyer, where you're sent left or right for your level. Seats in the Royal Circle or the Balcony? Look for the separate door at the side of the building, which is how those two levels get in.

By tube

Piccadilly Circus (Piccadilly and Bakerloo lines) is the closest, about 3 to 4 minutes' walk. Leicester Square (Northern and Piccadilly) is 3 to 5 minutes, and Charing Cross (Northern and Bakerloo) 6 to 8.

By train

Charing Cross is the nearest mainline station, 6 to 8 minutes on foot via Trafalgar Square.

By bus

The closest stops are on Haymarket, round the corner. Haymarket is one-way, so these are the stops for buses heading south towards Trafalgar Square:

  • Haymarket / Charles II Street, about a minute away: the 12, 88, 159 and 453
  • Haymarket / Jermyn Street, about two minutes: the 9, 23 and 139

A little further:

  • Leicester Square station, three or four minutes: the 24, 29 and 176
  • The Trocadero, on the Piccadilly Circus side, about four minutes: the 14 and 19

Late at night, the N3, N18, N97, N109 and N136 stop at Charles II Street, and the N9, N15 and N113 at Jermyn Street.

By car

There's no parking at the theatre. The nearest car park is Q-Park Leicester Square on Whitcomb Street, about two minutes' walk, and Q-Park Chinatown on Newport Place is a few minutes further. Both get busy on show nights, so book a space in advance if you can.

The theatre is inside the Congestion Charge zone, which runs from 7am to 6pm on weekdays and from midday to 6pm at weekends. Arrive after 6pm for an evening performance and you won't pay it; for a matinee you will. The ULEZ applies around the clock if your car doesn't meet its standards.

Taxis can drop you on Panton Street, and after the show cabs are easy to find on Haymarket.

What time to arrive

Arrive 15 to 20 minutes before, no later. The theatre opens 90 minutes before the show, so you can have a drink first, and the auditorium usually opens about 30 minutes before. Bags are checked on the way in, and the foyer is small, so it fills up close to curtain up.
