Boxes at the Fortune Theatre

Box A and Box B sit either side of the Dress Circle. Movable chairs give them the most legroom in the building, which at the Fortune counts for a lot, but you see the stage from the side.

Should you book one?

Not for your first Operation Mincemeat. You watch from the side of the stage rather than facing it, and the theatre's speakers are housed in the Boxes, so they're noisy. They're sold at the same price as a good Stalls or Dress Circle seat.

Better seats for the money

For the same money, the centre of the Stalls, rows C to G, or the Dress Circle, rows C to F. Either faces the stage straight on, and the Stalls have the best legroom after the Boxes.

When a Box does make sense

If you're tall and the legroom in the Circles would ruin your night, a Box is the one place above the Stalls where you can stretch out.

Neither is wheelchair accessible. If you can transfer to a chair without help and manage 5 steps and a narrow doorway, Box A is possible.

Boxes FAQs

Are the Boxes worth it at the Fortune Theatre?

For legroom, yes. For the view, no: they're side-on and the speakers are in them. At the same price, the centre of the Stalls or the Dress Circle sees more.
