Apollo Theatre, London
The Apollo Theatre is on Shaftesbury Avenue, next door to the Lyric, and Derren Brown's new show, Only Human, plays here from 10 October 2026 to 30 January 2027. It's one of the smaller West End theatres, with 844 seats over four levels, so nobody is far from the stage. For most people the Stalls are the level to book, and the rear Stalls, behind row R, are much cheaper and a good deal if you don't mind being at the back.

What's on at the Apollo Theatre
Derren Brown: Only Human plays from 10 October 2026 to 30 January 2027. It's his eleventh West End show, after a sold-out UK tour, and press night is 21 October.
Derren is back with one of his best ever shows. Expect mind-reading, psychological illusion and storytelling, written with his long-time collaborators Andrew O'Connor and Stephen Long. It runs about 2 hours 30 minutes with an interval and is recommended for ages 12 and up. For a show like this, the front and middle Stalls give you the best chance of being part of it, and the Dress Circle is very good too.

Apollo Theatre FAQs
What is the bag policy?
Small bags are fine. Bigger bags have to go in the cloakroom, which doesn't have much room, so anything really large is best left elsewhere. There are bag checks on the way in, and alcohol, sharp objects and recording equipment are not allowed.
Is the Apollo Theatre air conditioned?
Not fully. It has an air cooling system rather than full air conditioning, so the upper levels can get warm on a hot night.
Is there a dress code?
There isn't one. People come in everything from jeans to black tie and everything in between.
How many people does the Apollo Theatre hold?
844, across four levels. It is one of the smaller West End theatres, and the Stalls alone account for 365 of that.
What was the Apollo Theatre called before?
It has always been the Apollo, but only just. It was going to be called the Mascot Theatre, and the name was changed before it opened in 1901.
What area is the Apollo in?
Shaftesbury Avenue, on the southern edge of Soho, two or three minutes from Piccadilly Circus and about five from Chinatown.
Can I buy tickets at the Box Office?
Yes. The Box Office is open from 12pm until the evening performance starts on performance days. Booking with us means all-in pricing and no queue.
