Best Seats for Legally Blonde

The Stalls are the place to be, in the centre from row B to H, close enough to see faces on a very wide stage. The front of the Dress Circle is the other great view, and its side seats are nearer the stage and cheaper. There's more in the Tickets and Best Seats tab.

Where to Sit for Legally Blonde

The Coliseum has around 2,360 seats over four levels, so how far you are from the stage matters more here than in most West End theatres. The circles here are set back behind the Stalls rather than hanging over them, so the back of the Stalls keeps a clear view.

Stalls

The best seats for Legally Blonde. The centre from row B to H puts you close to the faces and the jokes. The back of the Stalls is fine here too, because nothing hangs over it. Row A is further from the stage than you'd think, because the orchestra pit is wide, and it's tight on legroom.

Dress Circle

The front of the centre, rows B to D, sees the whole stage and every routine. The seats at the ends curve round towards the stage, so they're closer and cheaper, with a view from the side. The back three rows lose a little of the top of the stage under the Upper Circle.

Upper Circle

Closer to the stage than it looks from the outside, and usually good value. Sit in the front half. Legroom is tight for anyone over about 5ft 5, and there's no lift to this level.

Balcony

The cheapest seats, and a long way up. You'll see the whole stage, but faces are small, and in a comedy that matters. If you're here, row K in the centre is the one to get, and avoid rows A and B, which look through a safety rail.

Who's Legally Blonde For?

  • Anyone who loves the film. The bend and snap, Bruiser the Chihuahua, "What, like it's hard?": it's all here, with songs.
  • A night out with friends. It's a big, bright, funny musical, and on tour it played to packed theatres with long queues for the merchandise.
  • Fans of Amber Davies. She was Jordan Baker in The Great Gatsby here at the Coliseum, and has played Elle on tour since February 2026.
  • Children of 8 and up. The theatre's age guidance is 8+, and the matinees finish before 5pm.

It's not for you if you've never liked the film: the story and the jokes are the same.

About Legally Blonde at the London Coliseum

This is a new production made at Curve in Leicester, with ROYO, and directed by Curve's artistic director Nikolai Foster. It opened at Curve in February 2026 and toured the UK and Ireland before coming to London, and it's the same team whose Kinky Boots played the Coliseum in spring 2026.

Leah Hill choreographs, Colin Richmond designs the set and Tom Rogers the costumes. On tour, Elle's sorority sisters followed her to Harvard as a cheerleading squad in her head.

Legally Blonde was last in the West End at the Savoy Theatre, where it won Best New Musical at the 2011 Olivier Awards.

What Happens in Legally Blonde?

Elle Woods is the president of her sorority in California and is sure her boyfriend Warner is about to propose. Instead he dumps her, because he's off to Harvard Law School and needs someone more serious.

So Elle gets into Harvard too, to win him back. When she arrives, Warner has a new girlfriend, Vivienne, and nobody takes the girl in pink seriously, apart from Emmett, a young lawyer who sees what she could do, and Paulette, the hairdresser who becomes her best friend.

Without giving the ending away, Elle ends up on a murder trial, and what she knows about fashion and hair turns out to matter more than anyone expected.

The songs include Omigod You Guys, Bend and Snap, Ireland, Whipped Into Shape and Gay or European?

Legally Blonde Reviews

The London reviews follow press night in March 2027. The production toured the UK and Ireland from February 2026, with Amber Davies as Elle, and the reviews on tour were good.

Natalie O'Donoghue gave it four stars for BroadwayWorld in Glasgow, calling it "a non-stop pop extravaganza with fantastic choreography from Leah Hill" and Davies "the perfect whip-smart Elle with bags of sass and sweetness". She was less keen on the set, which "favours simplicity".

In York, Charles Hutchinson gave it four stars and found it "a sugar rush of an all-American show, bursting with energy and joy", picking out the courtroom number Gay or European? as "the comedic high point".
