Boxes at the Lyric Theatre
Now playing: Hadestown From £30 Book tickets
There are ten Boxes, lettered A to M. A and M are at Stalls level, either side of the stage, and the other eight flank the Dress Circle, four each side. The chairs are movable, and three is the usual number in a Box: only D and K vary, taking two to four depending on the production.
Should you book one?
Not for the view. Every Box looks at the stage from the side. From the Dress Circle Boxes, the edges of the stage and its back corners are out of view. From the Stalls Boxes the nearest corner of the stage isn't visible. You're buying the space and the privacy rather than the best sightline.
For Hadestown, the Stalls Boxes aren't on sale, and Boxes C, D, E, I, J and K on the Dress Circle are.
Better seats for the money
The Dress Circle Boxes sell at the same price as Dress Circle rows E and F, which face the stage square-on from just behind the premium rows. For the same money, that's the better seat.
When a Box does make sense
When the comfort and the privacy matter more than the full view: a special occasion, or a small group who'd like their own space and chairs they can move. Hadestown doesn't use the sides of the stage much.
Boxes C, D and E are also the theatre's wheelchair spaces, reached step-free from the access entrance, and the access page explains how they're booked.
