The door is on Parker Street
The address is Drury Lane and the entrance is not. The theatre occupies part of a 1970s block of shops, flats and a car park, and its foyer door opens onto Parker Street, the turning off Drury Lane. Walk to the address and you will be looking at the side of the building, so aim for the corner of Parker Street instead. From the foyer the auditorium is three storeys up, and lifts take you to the Stalls.
By tube
Holborn and Covent Garden are both about five minutes away, Holborn on the Central and Piccadilly lines and Covent Garden on the Piccadilly. Neither is closer than the other, so take whichever your line serves. Both are busy at peak times and the queues to get out of Covent Garden are real, so Holborn is the calmer walk of the two. Leicester Square is about ten minutes.
Tottenham Court Road, on the Central, Northern and Elizabeth lines, is about ten minutes and it is the nearest station with step-free access. The operator's own route is New Oxford Street, right into Drury Lane, then left into Parker Street.
By train
Charing Cross is about 14 minutes on foot. City Thameslink is the other option and it is about 20 minutes, which is further than it looks on a map.
By bus
The 8 and 188 stop on Drury Lane itself, about three minutes from the Parker Street door. The 1, 59, 68, 91, 243 and SL6 stop by Holborn station on Kingsway, and the 98 on High Holborn, both a few minutes away. A little further down on the Aldwych you also have the 9, 15, 23, 26, 76, 87, 172 and 341.
Parking, and it is underneath you
You can park under the theatre, in the car park entered from Parker Mews, off Drury Lane, WC2B 5NT.
Blue Badge bays are at the top of Drury Lane outside Wow Retro and on Great Queen Street outside the Hercules Pillars, both about 100 to 150 metres away. The theatre is inside the Congestion Charge zone, £18 a day, and inside the ULEZ. If a sat-nav won't take WC2B 5PW, use WC2B 5PF, the live postcode for the same block.
What time to arrive
Arrive 15 to 20 minutes before the performance, no later. Bags are searched on the way in and everybody in the Stalls goes up by lift, so the last ten minutes before curtain up is when the foyer is at its busiest. If you are in the Circle, allow for 114 steps on top of that.
