Restaurants, Bars and Hotels Near the Empress Museum
Now playing: Come Alive! The Greatest Showman Circus Spectacular From £58 Book tickets
You do not need to go anywhere. Doors open a full hour before the show, the Empress Diner and the bars are inside, and the venue is built on the assumption that you will spend the evening in it. This is residential West London rather than theatreland.
If you do want to eat or drink outside first, there is one very good option two minutes away and several more worth the walk. Walk times are from the venue.
Restaurants
The Prince (2 to 3 minutes). 14 Lillie Road. The closest option by a distance, and the one that suits a pre-show crowd: four street-food kitchens under one roof, a pub alongside, and an 800-seat covered garden that is heated all year. No booking needed for most nights, which matters when the start time is fixed.
The Atlas (6 minutes). 16 Seagrave Road. A Mediterranean gastropub with a walled garden. Book a table here if you want a sit-down meal with time to spare before doors.
Flora Indica (14 minutes). 242 Old Brompton Road. Modern Indian sharing plates and a serious gin list, a step up from a quick bite before the show. Worth the walk on a night without children in tow.
Bars and pubs
The Prince (2 to 3 minutes). 14 Lillie Road. The nearest place to drink as well as eat, and the garden is under cover with heaters, so it is not a summer-only option.
The Lillie Langtry (5 minutes). Lillie Road. A more conventional pub, with its own garden and a first-floor bar. The better bet on a night when The Prince is packed.
The Elephant & Barrel (14 minutes). 197 Lillie Road. A neighbourhood pub on Normand Park, with Indian dishes alongside the pizzas and roasts, and the one to pick if you want to sit down rather than stand.
The Blackbird (14 minutes). 209 Earls Court Road. A Fuller's pub in the Good Beer Guide, and the one to head for if the beer matters more than the walk. It has rooms upstairs too.
Hotels
hub by Premier Inn London West Brompton (4 minutes). The closest hotel to the venue. Compact rooms, reliable, and about as convenient as it gets for a show that finishes late.
Premier Inn London Fulham (8 minutes). 295 North End Road. A big, plain chain hotel, and close enough to walk back to without thinking about it.
Premier Inn London Kensington, Earl's Court (19 minutes). Knaresborough Place. Dependable, and nearer Earl's Court station for getting elsewhere the next morning.
Blakes (23 minutes, or a short cab). 33 Roland Gardens. Anouska Hempel's original design hotel, all dark lacquer and four-posters. Further than the rest of this list, but the only five-star anywhere near the venue.
