Access and Facilities at the Noël Coward Theatre
Step-free access is to the Royal Circle only, through a ramp at the main entrance on St Martin's Lane. The Stalls, the Grand Circle and the Balcony are all reached by stairs.
Access bookings are handled by the venue, not by us, through the access team on the theatre's official site.
Getting in and getting to your seat
The main entrance on St Martin's Lane is three steps up from the pavement, with a ramp for wheelchair users. Tell the door staff when you arrive and an access host will take you in. Wheelchairs can be left in the cloakroom and mobility scooters in the foyer.
How many steps to each level:
- Stalls: down 31 from the foyer
- Royal Circle: up 3 to the back, then down 2 into your row (the wheelchair space in Box M has no steps)
- Grand Circle: up at least 30
- Balcony: up at least 54
Wheelchair and transfer seating
The wheelchair space is Box M, in the Royal Circle, for one wheelchair or scooter user and one companion, and other companions can sit nearby in the Royal Circle. The ramp is about 76cm wide and Box M about 85cm at its narrowest, so check your chair's width before you book.
For anyone who can transfer, Box L seats two, and there are aisle transfer seats in the Royal Circle, of which two in row G are the easiest to reach.
Accessible toilets
You'll find the accessible toilet off the foyer, by the cloakroom, reached without steps and a short way from the Royal Circle Boxes. Every level has toilets, though the Royal Circle has no gents' and the Balcony no ladies'.
Hearing and sight
Infra-red headsets, collected from the cloakroom, work throughout the auditorium. There's no hearing loop in the auditorium. Captioned and audio-described performances are scheduled show by show, and the dates for Into the Woods are on the Into the Woods page.
Assistance dogs
Guide dogs and assistance dogs are welcome.
Bars
There are three bars, selling drinks and snacks but no hot food. The theatre is cashless, so bring a card or phone.
Bags and coats
Bags are searched at the door, and knives, glass and personal safety sprays are among the things that can't come in. Only coats and small bags go in the cloakroom, for a small fee.
