There’s more than one side to every story - and the one from the yellow brick road has a very interesting one to tell.

In 1995, Gregory Maguire penned a cherished prequel to the Wizard of Oz that explored the flipside of what happened in Oz. Based on his novel, Wicked explores the untold history of two central characters from The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, the well-loved blonde witch Glinda and the often misunderstood Elphaba.

After meeing the The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, their friendship begins to take unexpected and different paths - Glinda’s desire to be loved and accepted makes her susceptible to the seduction of power while Elphaba’s unfaltering determination to stay true to herself carves out surprising directions for both their futures. Punctuated by powerful performances and well-timed comedy, their tale culminates in the fulfillment of destinies as the iconic characters of the timeless classic.

A crowd-favourite and critically acclaimed production, the West End Apollo Victoria Theatre welcomes the arrival of Wicked for an extended run, showcasing a fabulous theatre spectacle of music, dazzling sets and costumes and an original tale that gives audiences a new adventure.

Performances of Wicked at the Apollo Victoria Theatre are scheduled from Monday to Saturday Evenings at 7:30pm with Matinees on Wednesday and Saturday at 2:30pm.
