Beginning 16 June 2014, Peter Lockyer, David Thaxton, Tom Edden, Celinde Schoenmaker, Michael Colbourne and Emilie Fleming will be joining continuing Les Miserables cast members, Rob Houchen (Marius), Carrie Hope Fletcher (Eponine) and Wendy Ferguson (Madame Thenardier) in the Cameron Mackintosh/Royal Shakespeare Company production.
Lockyer, who is set to play Jean Valjean, is most recognized for playing the same character in the North American 25th Anniversary Tour of Les Miserables, His theatre credits also include the lead role in the Broadway run of Miss Saigon.
Olivier award winning Thaxton joins the cast in the role of Javert. His previous works include the critically acclaimed portrayal of Giorgio in Passion at the Donmar Warehouse and Raoul in Love Never Dies.
Edden, who is a Tony nominated Broadway veteran, has been cast as Thenardier who just recently wrapped up a stint as Fagin’ in Oliver!.
Fantine will now be played by Schoenmaker who returns to the role after taking on the character in 2013 for her West End debut.
Colbourne will be taking on the role of Enjolras for his West End debut.
Cosette will be played by Fleming who is currently best known as BBC One’s Over the Rainbow finalist. She was also recently part of the Crucible Theatre’s staging of Oliver!
The classic Cameron Mackintosh production is an epic tale of love, bravery and regret during 19th century France, where amid revolutionary struggle, each character battles through their personal demons for the chance of redemption.
