[NEWS] Full List of Nominations for the 68th Tony

Whilst we don’t usually report on goings on over the pond, it’s Awards season on Broadway and they don’t come any bigger than the Tonys!

Last week, the announcement of nominees for this year's Tony Awards was made, it's evident that 2014 is the year of the actor. This year, perhaps more than ever, there’s a nod to performers from the UK.


The musical A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder is up for a whopping 10 nominations including Best Musical, Best Original Score, and Best Direction of a Musical. As well as nominations for it's two actors, Jefferson Mays and Bryce Pinkham for Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role in a Musical.


There are also a lot of well-known movie and TV personalities that are up for awards. Neil Patrick Harris of How I Met Your Mother is up for Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role in a Musical for Hedwig and the Angry Inch.


Breaking Bad star Bryan Cranston is nominated for Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role in a Play in All The Way, competing with Monk star Tony Shaloub for his performance in Act One.


Irish actor Chris O'Dowd who's appeared in the hit TV series Girls is also nominated in the same category. While Stephen Fry is up for Best Performance by an Actor in a Featured Role in a Play for his performance in Twelfth Night.
