Description:
With standing ovations every night, the phenomenal We Will Rock You continues to go from strength to strength at the Dominion Theatre.
We Will Rock You is set in the future, on a place once called Earth. Globalisation is complete. Everyone watches the same movies, wears the same clothes, and thinks the same thoughts. A safe, happy Ga Ga world.
The Company Computers generate the music and the kids download it. All musical instruments are banned. But resistance is growing.
A hero is needed.
Is the one who calls himself Galileo that man, and can he help them Break Free...?
Legendary band Queen, fronted by the dynamic Freddie Mercury before his death in 1991, have been making music together since the 70's and have now joined forces with writer Ben Elton to bring their unique sound to theatreland...
This mega-musical, seen by over 5 million people, includes 32 of Queen's classic hits, including Killer Queen, Bohemian Rhapsody, Radio Ga Ga, and more. One dream... one vision... one smash hit - book today!
Please note: strobe lighting is used in the performance.

Our Review:
When We Will Rock You opened it was laughed at by the critics and to be honest you can see why. The story revolves around Galileo Figaro and his hunt for the place of living rock. He lives in a futuristic age where there isn't and music as we know it but all the music is made on computer and controlled by Globalsoft.
It seems the critics got it wrong, We Will Rock You is a MASSIVE hit and one of the top shows in London. Every night the band and the amazing performers bring down the house at the Dominion. It is too good to miss and really is one of the biggest hits of the past five years.
What The Papers Say:
“Despite receiving mostly scathing reviews when the show opened eight years ago, We Will Rock You has established itself as one of the West End’s official long-runners, regularly playing to packed houses.
Arlene Phillips’ choreography is kept fresh thanks to Giorgia Barberi’s role as resident choreographer and Tim Goodchild’s costumes remain inventive and striking.
Peter Murphy as Galileo and Sabrina Aloueche as Scaramouche attack their roles with verve but the act is beginning to look a little routine.” THE STAGE
“The year is 2302 and earth has become Planet Mall (geddit?), a place where kids wear the same clothing, where rock music is banned, and musical instruments are a relic of a bygone age. This is a land where globalisation is complete and an organisation called Globalsoft, led by the Killer Queen, reigns supreme. The enemies of the state are the Bohemians, a group of outcasts who live underground – in this case, underground means Tottenham Court Road Tube station – and are in constant search of "the lost vibe", music that existed centuries ago that now only resides in memories passed down through the ages.
Surely they could have come up with something better than this. Ben Elton, the brains behind the book, claims to be a rock fan but he has done Queen a disservice with such a trite and tacky storyline.
The set, at least, is impressive. Sophisticated hydraulics and huge video screens bearing computer-animated scenes conjure up a colourful, if rather unimaginative, vision of the future. The choreography is similarly slick with dancers in cyber-punk outfits carrying out their duties for the mistress Killer Queen.
In some of the songs the lyrics have been changed to incorporate references to cyberspace – rather cringingly, "Radio Gaga" becomes "Internet Gaga". Yet the musical comes with its own website where you can book tickets and watch Elton give his own special introduction to the show. There are more inconsistencies, such as the fact that the Killer Queen, a ruler who rails against the destructive powers of rock 'n' roll, arrives as a soul diva and belts out songs with the lung capacity of Aretha Franklin.
Happily though, the songs stay largely true to the originals. "Under Pressure", "Killer Queen", "Somebody To Love" and "I Want To Break Free" all remind you how fabulous Queen were and will have even the most curmudgeonly punter tapping their feet.” THE INDEPENDENT
"Freddie Mercury's music demands a lush, grandiose setting. In Christopher Renshaw's production it is saddled with an expensively trashy video-game aesthetic, as a teenage rebel in the year 2302 seeks the Holy Axe and the Lost Riff in a world that has left real music behind.
Elton's premise really is as sixth form as it sounds. On the one hand, it is good to see dramatised a concern with the increasing homogenisation of culture. In 2302 on Planet Mall, citizens are clones, Globalsoft rules, and all music is soullessly produced by manufactured pop groups. But it is hard to take seriously a story that invokes spirit and individuality when it is packaged in a spectacle as ruthlessly manufactured as this.
The dissidents in this dystopia - they are called the Bohemians - are grungy, and named after 20th century rock icons. Oh, and Britney Spears. Elton's sometimes funny script makes easy play of the absurdity of classic rock lyrics, which our hero Galileo spouts involuntarily. He is the Dreamer, you see - the man chosen to revive the spirit of rock'n'roll.
Mark Fisher's design uses mobile digital video screens creatively to depict the McCulture of the future.
This hi-tech extravaganza perpetrates on Queen's tunes and the art of the musical precisely the crime Globalsoft has committed against music.“ THE GUARDIAN
"What distinguishes WE WILL ROCK YOU is that it's about rock music. There's a lot of soul, and it's what makes the show…with scorching live guitars all round…The sheer power of the best Queen numbers strikes hard" FINANCIAL TIMES
